The Defibtech Lifeline AED uses a non-rechargeable battery pack similar to those of other AED units. The major difference between the Lifeline battery pack and other battery packs is a lithium 9-volt battery must be installed in the Lifeline battery pack. The 9-volt battery powers the AED unit’s self-test features while the main battery pack powers the AED’s primary functions.
